Calculation Methodology

This Da Liu Ren tool sets up the divination by the traditional "month-general over hour-branch" method:

  1. 1Month-general over hour: the month-general of the day is placed over the earthly-branch of the divination hour to build the heaven/earth plates, with the month-general advancing by solar terms.
  2. 2Four lessons: derived from the day stem-branch and its Gan arrangement against the earthly plate.
  3. 3Three transmissions, nine methods: initial transmission chosen by one of nine methods (thief-conquest, comparison, invasion, distant-echo, Mao-star, Bie-Ze, Ba-Zhuan, Fan-Yin, Fu-Yin), then middle and final transmissions.
  4. 4Twelve heavenly generals: placed on the transmissions with day/night nobleman distinction (by Mao-You boundary).
  5. 5Judgment: combining transmission five-element relations, class body auspiciousness and the matter-spirit relevant to the question.
